Chris Horton MEng MBA FIMechE - Managing Director
Chris first became involved in powertrain R&D when he joined world renowned specialists Cosworth. After 10years of powertrain development and project leadership, including World Rally, Indycar, Le Mans and Formula 1 (covering supply to Jaguar F1 and Williams F1). Chris then co-founded the consultancy from which OxDrive was born, leading the operations, R&D & procurement for the development of rugged, high torque powertrains.
Terence Goad BEng FIMechE - Technical Director
Terence has been at the forefront of engineering development for almost 30years. Initially undertaking analysis for an aerospace consultancy, Terence moved to Formula 1. He has helped design numerous championship winning cars, working at the Renault, Toyota and Mercedes F1 teams. Terence co-founded the consultancy from which OxDrive was born, leading the design of many innovative projects including two autonomous tractors and the OxDrive driveline family.
About the company
OxDrive specialises in the design and manufacture of robust, integrated, electric drives for off-highway use, including agritech, construction and more. The need for ‘one box’ integrated units with gearbox, motor, motor controller and brake was identified whilst the OxDrive founders were leading the design & development of fully autonomous tractors. A family of drive units addressing this need was proposed for a £0.5m InnovateUK Power Electronics & Motor Drives (PEMD) project. Following a successful project outcome, OxDrive Ltd was incorporated in 2021.
OxDrive is based at Silverstone Park, on the edge of the internationally renowned Silverstone Circuit, in the centre of Oxford-Cambridge high technology arc.
