The OxDrive e-hub family

OxDrive products are centred around our range of high torque, robust, wheel drive units.

The OxDrive e-hub family is a range of fully integrated drivelines for off-highway use, including agritech, construction and more.  Our e-hubs provide durable and reliable drive for the incoming wave of electric and electric-autonomous vehicles & services, aiming to meet Net Zero targets, maximise yield/productivity, and address labour challenges.

OxDrive e-hubs bolt onto the vehicle (directly onto chassis or via suspension), connecting electrically with nominal 48 Volt power and a communications port.  Each e-hub is controlled independently, enabling full control of the speed and torque of each wheel.

Key features:

  • Engineered for the speed, torque & durability demands of off-highway use.
  • Tested to minimise vehicle R&D overhead & time to market.
  • Designed as a ‘one box’ driveline enabling optimised vehicle layout for maximum efficacy & commercial viability.
  • Mechanical neutral, should the vehicle need moving without power being available..
  • Dual input emergency brake, synchronised independently of the vehicle or robot’s computer control system.

OxDrive vehicle platforms

E-hubs are the core of the OxDrive offering.  However for AI and service providers requiring more than pure traction, OxDrive also offers OxDrive-powered ‘vanilla’ platforms.  Remote control and AI ready with Robot Operating System (ROS) integration, why not prove and build your service around robust and reliable OxDrive technology?

GoFAR small format / 'swarm robotics' vehicle platform

The GoFAR are robust electric vehicle platforms driven by OxDrive e-hubs.  They are developed specifically for off-highway outdoor applications including agritech, construction, forestry and more.

GoFARs are the perfect base for transporting goods, or as the base on which to mount sensors, robotic arms and other hardware to provide a wider service.  They therefore address the needs of AI and service providers, enabling them to concentrate on maximising their service without the need for platform development.  Being a developed and ‘vanilla’ platform, service providers also benefit from the volume cost curve of a readily available, well supported, platform.

The GoFAR is a highly configurable platform with the following key features depending on specification:

  • Single or twin axle steer (tight turning circle and ‘crabbing’ capability)
  • E-differential to eliminate surface damage to grass, mud or sand
  • 2 or 4 wheel drive
  • >500kg payload capacity
  • Up to 12kph continuous speed
  • Hot swappable batteries with on- or off-vehicle battery charging
  • Rigid or articulating suspension

OxDrive integration and engineering support

From our extensive heritage in niche automotive, motorsport and off-highway, OxDrive offers world class engineering and integration support for its e-hubs and platforms.  We can integrate our e-hubs onto customer architecture or design bespoke vehicle platforms comprising of steering, propulsion and battery packs, to enable AI and solutions providers achieve their goals.

OxDrive e-hubs and GoFAR architecture  have been used in an array of applications, from agritech through to press launch of concept cars.

All applications have common themes in requiring robust, high torque electric drivelines, enabling the customer to build a mobile product or service.  Our products are designed for robustness, and do not require specialist hazardous voltage training, meaning the systems can be easily adopted.

OxDrive engineering support a wide range off-highway projects, from concept cars to agritech
